Improve Your Management by Pairing Astus with Your Existing Software

To facilitate Astus software integration within your organization, we offer you several tools to help our software to communicate with your existing infrastructure.

Web Services

Web Services enable communication between two systems: the data recorded by Astus becomes accessible to remote computer systems. These services fetch the desired data, and make it possible to modify it, if desired (for example, to add or remove Locations remotely).

The information coming from our servers is converted into XML, which is then accessible from any development language (.NET, Java, etc.). The communication goes both ways: you can import information into our software as well as export Astus data to your own software.

That way, you can combine your data and that of Astus in a single software, to facilitate the work of your staff. Examples of existing applications that may be useful to pair with Astus include:

  • Payroll system
  • Human Resources
  • Route planning (eg, UPS Roadnet)
  • Delivery
  • In-house system (eg, passenger transport, like buses)

Data is synchronized between the two systems at a regular, predetermined, frequency (for example, once per hour or per day).

The implementation of these services require a slight computer programming, which is a service we offer if you wish.

Push Services

Unlike the Web Services, Push Services send information from Astus in one direction only: towards the client.

Data is sent in real-time to the destination chosen by the client. In other words, Push Services send the data that the client wants and on the conditions he wants. All Astus information can be transmitted this way, and a filter can be applied to customize parameters of sent data.

This solution is more costly than Web Services as it requires more computer development, both on the part of our programmers and on client’s side, because no predefined standard exists. Each new case demands a new customized solution.

Data can be “pushed” by using Push Services to applications such as:

  • Alarm center
  • To display data on a map in real-time in another software than Astus
